When I was doing my "daily painting" blog on a regular basis, one of the small pieces I did (Day 70) was a scene from Canaan. I always liked that composition and intended to paint a larger version (the original was 6" x 6"). So here is that larger version. I really like the way the three dead trees live in this sea of tall grass and wild flowers. This piece will be in my show in September.
I haven't posted in a while. Time to get busy. I have been painting, just not a lot of notable work to show. Speaking of shows, I have my first one-man-show this September in Charleston, WV at the Art Emporium. I believe the exact date is Thursday the 17th. It's during Artwalk, so don't forget to put that on your calendars. Part of my show will be landscapes from my time in Canaan Valley, WV. This first one is near the park entrance, a swollen stream near a hiking trail.
