A Funeral

I'm in a local business networking group. Last fall one of our members passed away. He was a young man and it was shocking to us all. We all came together to pay our respects at the funeral. I didn't know his parents, wife or son, but as we passed by the coffin and greeted the family, it all seemed so raw. They were in their own sphere of despair. I almost felt as if I shouldn't be there.

This painting is the result of my experience.

PS: This painting won second place at the Best of West Virginia Juried Show at the Tamarack in 2018.
