Day 66

This piece is the only plein air painting I was able to do while on vacation. It rained nearly everyday we were in Canaan Valley, WV, so painting trips were hard to come by. I'm just not in the position to fight the rain at this stage in my artistic evolution.

I usually spend the first couple of days playing with the family, then try to carve out time later in the week to paint. All the rain kind of crushed my plans and before I knew it, the week was over. This view is the path that circles the lake. At the end of a wooded area, the trees break for the sunshine. It's like emerging from the "dark forest".
